Brindabella Airlines Pty Ltd is a regional airline based in Canberra, Australia. It is a Qantas affiliate airline operating a small regional network. Its main base is Canberra International Airport.[1]

The airline was established and started operations in 1994. It began as an executive air charter and aircraft hire service, with an affiliated aircraft maintenance business. In 2000, Brindabella Airlines added a flight training school to its operations, and in April 2003, scheduled Regional airline services. The flight training school closed in mid-2010. It is wholly owned by Jeffrey Boyd and Lara Corry-Boyd and employs over 80 staff.[1][2]
In December 2005, Brindabella won an award for excellence in tourism at the Rhodium ACT and Region Tourism Awards 2005. During August 2006, Brindabella Airlines won two awards at the ACT Telstra Business Awards 2006 - Brindabella the Panasonic Australia accolade for businesses with more than 20 employees but less than or equal to 50 employees; and the AMP Innovation Award for the most innovative business in the ACT.[2]
Brindabella Airlines introduced the BAe Jetstream 41 aircraft on 5 May 2008[3] as the new member of its fleet. Brindabella took delivery of two J41s in December 2007. The Jetstream aircraft operate mostly on the Brisbane to Tamworth and Canberra to Newcastle routes.
During 2011 Aeropelican purchased a controlling stake in Brindabella Airlines.

A new service to Latrobe Valley Airport (Traralgon, Victoria) from Canberra began on 5 September 2005. This service primarily catered for public servants travelling between the national capital and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) centre in Traralgon. It was suspended in May 2006 due to low load factors reportedly costing the airline over $200,000.[2]
In August 2006, Sunshine Express Airlines and Brindabella Airlines announced that an agreement had been reached for Brindabella to take over the New South Wales coastal routes then operated by Sunshine Express. On 1 October, Brindabella commenced regular passenger transport operations to Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Brisbane, utilising the same equipment and staff previously provided by Sunshine Express.[2]
In April 2008, the airline announced the introduction of a week-day direct air service between Tamworth and Brisbane. A weekend service was added shortly after.[5][6] In May 2010 the airline announced that it would introduce a new Monday to Friday Brisbane-Moree-Brisbane service effective 5 July[7]
